TEDxCSU 2013, CSU's TED-inspired event, will take place this year at the Lory Student Center on March 2. This year's theme will be "expanding your perspectives."
The five-hour event, which starts at 1 p.m., features speakers chosen by the TEDxCSU team to share "ideas worth spreading" in the form of stories, talks, photos and slideshow presentations. This year's lineup includes 11 speakers, many of whom are locals, with various vocational and educational backgrounds, including economists, entrepreneurs and even a magician. The full list can be viewed here: www.colostate.edu/events/….
Tickets are free for students and $16 for community members and are available online or at the Lory Student Center box office. Food will be provided and there will be a cash bar.
TEDxCSU was pioneered in 2011 by undergraduate students Hannah Toole, Brooke Burtard and Adam Suriel-Gestwiki, who hosted the first event in 2012. They plan to make it an annual affair.
TEDx is a group of independently organized events modeled after TED, the global set of conferences formed to disseminate "ideas worth spreading."
